COVID-19 On-Site Visitation Guidelines

The Murray Research Archive is resuming on-site visits per the policy described below. Our goal is to maintain the safety of our users and our staff as we navigate returning to on-site data use during COVID-19. Our policies are aligned with those of the other Harvard Libraries providing user services at this time.

Always remember that if you are not feeling well, please stay home and reschedule your visit for another time.

During the spring semester the Murray Research Archive is open for on-site visits (by appointment only) between the hours of 11am to 4pm, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Due to Covid-19, our visitation policy are:

  • Application to Use Data Forms must be submitted and approved prior to requesting a visit.
  • Proof of vaccination required by submitting a copy of your vaccination card before your visit.
  • Everyone is required to wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status.
  • Workrooms are limited to 2 persons per a project/visit.

The Murray Archive works with classes regularly as well, and those need to be scheduled at least four weeks in advance.
Class visits are limited to seven students per visit and visits will take place outside of the Murray workroom, in a designated classroom. Multiple visits can be scheduled as needed, within the days and hours posted above. All students/staff must show proof of vaccination status prior to visitation and wear masks throughout their visit.
Whether an individual or a class, users must email the Murray Archive at before planning their visit. We encourage you to review the Harvard Library Visitor Access page prior to your visit for up-to-date guidelines and policies.
